Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Bokaro Steel City has a fully functional Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL). The laboratory was inaugurated on 31 October 2021. It provides a strong platform for developing students’ innovation, creativity, problem-solving abilities, scientific temper, and technological skills.
Students, particularly those from Classes VI to XII, actively utilise the Atal Tinkering Lab for developing innovative projects, conducting experiments, and creating prototypes. Students are introduced to modern technologies and innovation through the curriculum and various activities prescribed by the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM).
The ATL is accessible to all students from Classes VI to XII. Various training programmes and workshops are organised from time to time to familiarise students with the latest technological advancements and emerging technologies.
Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Bokaro actively participates in various ATL-related programmes and activities, including ATL Marathon, Mega Tinkering Activities, Community Day Celebrations, and other innovation-based initiatives.
Best Practices
The following best practices are adopted to ensure that the Atal Tinkering Lab remains maximally useful and accessible to students:
- The ATL remains accessible and available for students to use as required.
- Students can visit the lab and develop projects based on their interests and innovative ideas.
- Necessary support and guidance are provided by the ATL In-charge and Mentor Teachers during project development and technical activities.
- A logbook is regularly maintained to record the details of students using ATL resources.
- Students are encouraged to develop creative thinking, innovation, experimentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Students are provided opportunities to participate in various ATL competitions, workshops, and innovation-related activities.
