Introduction
In the present digital age, geographical distances no longer remain a barrier to communication and interaction. Rapid advancements in technology have brought the world closer and have provided access to a multilingual and multicultural environment through television, the Internet, and other digital platforms.
In this context, effective communication skills and proficiency in the English language have become increasingly important. The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) revolution has transformed the teaching-learning process and opened new avenues for developing language and communication skills.
A Language Lab is an effective ICT-enabled facility that provides students with opportunities to develop their listening, speaking, pronunciation, vocabulary, and communication skills in an interactive and learner-friendly environment. It enables students to practise language skills at their own pace and according to their individual learning needs.
Recognising the importance of effective communication skills in higher education, professional careers, and everyday life, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has taken significant initiatives to establish Language Labs in Kendriya Vidyalayas. Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Bokaro is one of the Vidyalayas equipped with this important learning facility.
Infrastructure
