Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Bokaro plans educational visits, field trips and excursions at the beginning of each academic session as an integral part of experiential learning. These activities provide students with opportunities to gain practical knowledge, explore their surroundings and connect classroom learning with real-life experiences.
The Vidyalaya ensures that such visits are planned systematically and conducted in accordance with the prescribed KVS guidelines and safety norms. Only agencies approved by KVS are approached for organizing educational tours and excursions. Teachers from the Vidyalaya accompany the students as escorts and remain responsible for their supervision and guidance throughout the visit.
For students of the junior classes, short field trips and educational excursions are organized to age-appropriate places of educational and cultural interest. Students are generally advised to carry their own lunch and other essential items, while transportation arrangements are made by the Vidyalaya as per the applicable norms.
As part of adventure and experiential learning, activities such as trekking, hill climbing, rock climbing and river crossing may be included wherever permitted and considered appropriate, subject to proper risk assessment, authorization, supervision and prescribed safety measures.
The safety and security of students remain the highest priority in all educational visits and excursions. Adequate supervision, necessary precautions, emergency preparedness and adherence to safety guidelines are ensured before and during every activity.
Through these educational visits and excursions, the Vidyalaya aims to promote experiential learning, confidence, teamwork, discipline, environmental awareness, independence and overall personality development among students.
